My family was against my purchase of a motorcycle as well. My wife thought they were “Stupid and a waste of money” while my parents simply thought that I would kill myself.
It seems that they felt that I had survived my first bike so why put myself at risk once again. My mother and father stopped by on father’s day for lunch. My father and I spent the afternoon polishing my bike. My wife now let’s me take the kids for short rides and has even gone for a ride herself (Something she said she would never do)
Families care for you and are always against what may place you in harms way whether it’s riding a motorcycle, flying an airplane, or sailing around the world. Just learn to ride safely and give them nothing to worry about. Good luck and welcome
